Hiking Trail – Anse Major
Description
It is a must to add the Anse Major Hike to your itinerary when visiting Seychelles. The hike takes around 45–60 minutes (one way) to complete, depending on your pace. Anse Major Beach is located in a secluded bay on the north of Mahé Island, close to the popular touristic area of Beau Vallon.
The trail is manageable in both good and bad weather, and children from 5 years old can definitely take on the challenge. There will be some minor climbs and descents along the way. Along the hike, we will explore lush green nature, enjoy views of scenic bays, and if lucky, spot a real flying fox.
After reaching Anse Major Beach, you’ll have the opportunity to take photos, swim, or relax before we head back. Alternatively, if you prefer not to hike back, a taxi boat can be arranged in advance. Payment for the boat ride can be made beforehand directly to the skipper.
HIKE ITINERARY
We normally start at 7 a.m., or 8 a.m. if guests prefer, from the starting point at Dan Zil, Bel Ombre, and return before 12 noon. Guests are also welcome to stay longer and return by taxi boat. A restaurant and bar are available at Anse Major (charges apply).
